Who I am
I am an American artist living in Paris. I have had the opportunity to live in the great city of Paris. It has been my home for more than twenty years. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; I attended the first and oldest art school (and museum) in the United States: The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. This school was founded in 1791 by painter and scientist Charles Wilson Peale.
The Academy maintains a tradition of educating the artist in the classic manner. A large part of this education is the study of the great art works in Europe. I graduated from the Academy winning a scholarship to travel in Europe. These annual awards of travel have been made to Academy students since 1891. This honored prize would lead me eventually to France and Paris.
When first moving to Paris with my partner, I spent many days wandering the Louvre museum drawing from the sculptures in the galleries. Taking breaks from my work I was able to study the amazing collection of this enormous space.
I’ve been offering tours of my adopted city for more than eighteen years. My knowledge of the city has grown over these years. My own daily wanders through Paris has led me to learn much more about the city’s amazing history as well as the rich culture of it’s people.
I hope to pass on to visitors the great pleasures I have grown to love about the “city of lights”,
